Mark Silberstein

MANAGING DIRECTOR, FINANCE

Mark Silberstein is in charge of financing new acquisitions through debt and equity and developing strategic partnerships with lenders and investors – from family offices to institutional partners. Mr. Silberstein’s keen business acumen is critical in arranging and executing insightful and creative financing solutions for the Beitel Group’s new acquisitions.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Silberstein has played an integral role in the growth of the Beitel Group’s portfolios and the facilitation of capital markets transactions. Since joining the firm in 2011, Mr. Silberstein has raised capital for some of the Beitel Group’s largest acquisitions.

Abe Schmalberg

MANAGING DIRECTOR, CFO

Abe Schmalberg is the Beitel Group’s Chief Financial Officer reporting to CEO Ben Beitel. As CFO, Abe oversees the accounting, financial modeling planning and analysis, underwriting, investor relations & internal audit and tax functions.

Abe has significant experience building and leading finance & tax teams in global companies with significant operating scale and complexity, both as an external advisor as well as an internal team member. Abe joined the Beitel Group from KPMG in 2018 where he worked as a manager in KPMG’s real estate and advisory practice. Some of Abe’s previous clients include Tishman Speyer, Blackstone, and Prudential where he advised on acquisitions, sales and tax restructurings, involving opportunity funds, private equity partnerships, and REITS.

Abe is a NYS licensed CPA and holds an MBA with a double major in Finance and Accounting from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business.

Haim Mermelstein

MANAGING DIRECTOR of ASSET MANAGEMENT

Haim Mermelstein plays a multi-faceted role, involved in all aspects of hands-on real estate operations and development. He utilizes his broad industry network and extensive experience to develop and implement portfolio and asset strategies for the company. Heavily involved in corporate decisions for every transaction, Mr. Mermelstein oversees all legal, tax, insurance, development, and financing matters. A creative problem solver, Mr. Mermelstein has identified significant cost-saving and value-add solutions for every project, helping to deliver solid returns to the Beitel Group and its partners.

Julien Darmon

DIRECTOR, ACQUISITIONS

Julien Darmon underwrites prospective acquisitions within the Beitel Group’s portfolios, preparing detailed financial models and property-level research for each deal. He uses Argus, CoStar, and Excel, among other tools, to underwrite investment opportunities for various asset classes nationwide.

Prior to joining the Beitel Group, Mr. Darmon worked in commercial brokerage at Cushman & Wakefield, representing New York City office tenants. Mr. Darmon holds a BA degree from The University of Rochester, where he majored in International Relations.

Jeremy Rosenthal

Director of Marketing and Human Resources

Jeremy Rosenthal is the Director of Marketing and Human Resources. He ensures that the marketing of properties is consistent and accurately portrays the team’s accomplishments.  He is also in charge of keeping all social media and websites updated that reflect that the Beitel Group is #hustling. He manages the recruiting process for all hires. Before joining the Beitel Group, Jeremy worked at an accounting firm, where he developed processes and systems to streamline the firm’s internal and external marketing initiatives as well as managed the brand expansion to the firm’s new locations, including public relations, employee on-boarding and engagement programs.

Rachel D’Ancona

DIRECTOR of Financial Planning and Analysis

Rachel D’Ancona has a strong track record of proven successful multifamily portfolio asset management – including expense management, renovation projects, marketing programs and reputation management. Ms. D’Ancona specializes in analyzing annual budgets and business plans for each asset that illustrate entrepreneurial strategies for adding value, and enhancing performance.

Michael Charles

DIRECTOR of ASSET MANAGEMENT

Michael Charles focuses on asset management and is involved in all aspects of hands-on real estate operations and development. Mr. Charles is an accomplished real estate professional with experience in asset management. Mr. Charles oversees the operations of multiple properties to maximize revenue and minimize expenses. Prior to joining Beitel, Mr. Charles worked as an investment analyst for Carroll Organization in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Charles assisted with potential acquisitions in high growth markets and portfolio management. Mr. Charles graduated with a BBA in finance and real estate from Emory University.

Benny Sheinfeld

VP, DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION

Benny Sheinfeld manages development and construction projects in commercial and residential markets. Mr. Sheinfeld develops strategic partnerships with parties involved in the development and construction process for prospective acquisitions preparing property-level research for each deal and then monitors day to day progress. Mr. Sheinfeld collaborates with property managers and construction teams and uses his extensive entrepreneurial experience to drive projects successfully to completion.

Prior to joining the Beitel Group, Mr. Sheinfeld worked as an investment sales broker for Live London Estates, in England, and later at Weissman Realty, concentrating on multifamily buildings in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. Mr. Sheinfeld graduated Touro College with a BS in marketing and management.

Justina DeBruzzi

VP of Investor Relations

Justina DeBruzzi plays a multi-faceted role within our team. With experience in human resources, accounting, and project management she brings prowess to numerous areas of our business. Since July 2021, Ms. DeBruzzi has been an intricate part of our investor relations and administrative teams. After studying at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and the University of Victoria in Wellington, NZ she moved to New York City to start a career in business. With knowledge from working in the New York City construction industry, Justina provides organization and cohesion in a fast-paced, ever-shifting environment. Having been involved with renovations of high-end hotels, such as the Conrad New York Midtown, The Plaza Hotel, and the Lotte New York Palace, Justina maintains a high quality of detail-oriented attention to all work she puts forth.
